My name is Jim Cochran and I've been playing guitar for about 25 years. That means that I'm either kind of old, or that I started playing guitar when I was really young. Let's play it safe and say they are both kind of true. However, I didn't start out on the guitar. I actually messed around with a lot of instruments before I struck my first chord on the guitar. But when I did pull of that first sweet sounding chord, I was hooked. I couldn't stop playing. I'd be late for the school bus because I couldn't put down my guitar until I figured out one more riff from one of my favorite bands. I really was in awe of the instrument and the bond was instant. I never looked back and I hope to still be rockin' out into my 70's!
My background and love is playing lead guitar in original alt country bands. I love to create guitar parts and melodies from scratch and I'd do it for free! I've been in more bands than you can shake a stick at, but locally I played in a band called "Tulane Blacktop" that was signed to Eldon Boy records owned and operated by Robert Scovill. The band ran it's course and now I enjoy playing bass in my dance cover band "Radio Junket". By the way, we're available for weddings!
During the day I work as a Systems Engineer for a fortune 500 company. I'm married with 2 daughters. My wife plays cello and we also perform as a duo.
